PTA
The PTA was formed in 1992 to raise extra funds to benefit the children of Hurst Park Primary Academy. We are formed from a group of parents and teachers (some of whom have also been parents) at the school. Every parent can become involved; all you need is a desire to help improve the environment and facilities available to the children.
In the 30 years we have been running, we have raised over £200,000 from events such as fitness fundraisers, relay runs, quiz nights, race nights, Christmas fayres, raffles, auctions, children’s parties, and summer events.
Over the years, proceeds from our fundraising have been used to purchase interactive whiteboards for all our classrooms, playground equipment, sports equipment and a brand new long jump pit. We have also raised money to contribute towards the setting up of the foundation stage unit and the new classroom: The Club Hub. We have replaced the school’s computers, brought a new hall projector and have also raised money to help set up the vegetable garden. There are always new and exciting projects in the pipeline.
The PTA meet ad hoc throughout the academic year and this includes one AGM (Annual General Meeting). We would love to see new faces so please come along and you will be made to feel very welcome. You can get involved as little or as much as you would like and any help and new ideas are very much appreciated.
The PTA has their very own dedicated microsite for PTA Events, which acts as a central hub for all things PTA. On the site you will find details of events we are hosting, where to buy tickets, how to volunteer as a helper, how to contact the PTA, and much more.
